I live in Yorkshire, England. I began writing when rock & roll stardom failed to return my calls. So far I've sold seventy-odd short stories to various magazines and anthologies. A collection of my short fiction, The Shapes of Strangers, came out from NewCon Press in April 2019. Two previous collections, Maps of the Edge (2011) and Escape Routes from Earth (2015), were self-published.
My spare time interests include hiking, gardening, and conservation volunteering — anything to get me outdoors and away from the computer screen.

If you want to get in touch, feel free to email me at — but please use a comprehensible subject line for your message, as I am vigilant at deleting unread anything that resembles spam.
I also have a backup email account at if you have difficulty reaching my Hotmail address.
If you would like to receive occasional emails about new book releases, please sign up to my mailing list. These emails will be infrequent (I won't send a message every time I publish a short story). As of Sept 2023 I've temporarily disabled my mailing-list sign-up due to a flood of bots; if you're still seeing this message sometime later then I haven't got round to re-enabling sign-ups, but feel free to drop me a line at the address above and I'll sort it out.
